Long-term mortgage interest rates continued to climb Monday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield dipped to 4.52 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average inched up to 5.63 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate gained to 5.39 percent. The 1-year adjustable was down at 5.29 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 4.63 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 20.99 points, or 0.17 percent, finishing at 12,328.48. The Nasdaq was up 5.5 points, or 0.23 percent, closing at 2,442.86.
