Long-term mortgage interest rates inched higher Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 4.69 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average gained to 5.71 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate was up at 5.49 percent. The 1-year adjustable edged up to 5.33 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.78 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 25.56 points, or 0.21 percent, finishing at 12,442.16. The Nasdaq was up 15.5 points, or 0.63 percent, closing at 2,459.33.
