Las Ventanas housing deal completed

Woodlark Capital LLC today announced it purchased its first asset of 2007 — the Las Ventanas Apartments in Alamogordo, N.M.

The value of the transaction was approximately $22.2 million.

Las Ventanas is a 280-unit, garden-style apartment community that caters to the housing needs of the Holloman Air Force Base and working professionals in Alamogordo. The Holloman Air Force Base supports approximately 21,000 active duty, National Guard and Reserve servicemen and -women, as well as retirees and Department of Defense civilians and their family members.

Completed in 1999, Las Ventanas encompasses 23 two-story townhouse buildings and one clubhouse/leasing office on approximately 18.7 acres of land. Property amenities include a swimming pool and spa, shaded cabanas with barbecue grills, a clubhouse complete with sports bar and a game room, a fitness center and a lighted playground area.

Las Ventanas is Woodlark Capital’s second military housing acquisition. Woodlark acquired the Courtyard Apartments, a student/military apartment complex serving Valdosta State University and Moody’s Air Force Base, in August 2006.
