Eight tech pioneers compete for innovation award

The Inman Innovator awards will be presented Aug. 1 at Real Estate Connect in San Francisco.

Eight technology companies will compete for the Inman Innovator award this year in the Most Innovative Technology category, which recognizes excellence, innovation and success in real estate or related technology that aids in the real estate process.

The 2007 finalists for technology include Altos Research, Google Street View, Jott, Meebo, MyBlogLog, RealTech LLC, Talkshoe, Xpressdocs.

Altos Charts

Altos Research provides comprehensive, real-time real estate market data feeds for select U.S. cities. AltosCharts widgets allow Web site owners to display market statistics on their sites through an embeddable visual graph of recent market activity. AltosCharts are available in different sizes and animated images as well.

Google Street View

Google Street View allows users to view street-level photographs and brings an exciting new real-world dimension to geographic searches on the Internet. Only available in select cities currently, it is accessible through Google Maps. Google Street View’s 360° virtual tour allows someone to explore a city from the ground level up.

Jott

Jott is a Web-based, voice-to-text transcription that lets mobile professionals create e-mail and text messages completely hands-free. By simply dialing a single number and speaking your mind, Jott turns voice requests into text items and forwards them to the appropriate parties. This allows you to manage teams, follow up with clients and create new to-do items, all while on the move.

Meebo Me

Meebo Me is an embeddable instant messaging (IM) window that Web site owners can place anywhere on a Web page to enable real-time chats with visitors. IM conversations build interactivity into a static Web site and allow for instant and more meaningful contact with Web customers.

MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog brings social network features to individual Web sites. It provides a way for Web log (blog) owners to create a sense of community around their sites. Individual readers are identified by an image, so site owners and other readers can see who is visiting. MyBlogLog also offers Webmasters free traffic statistics and analysis tools.

RealTech LLC

RealTech LLC provides advanced Web site solutions to real estate brokers by integrating consumer-face Web sites and backend Intranet and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. RealTech software solutions use Microsoft Virtual Earth technology to power map-based real estate searches for broker Web sites.

Talkshoe

Talkshoe allows anyone to easily become their own talk show host and to publish their own podcasts. Conference calls can be recorded live and archived for later download in MP3 format or streamed from the Talkshoe Web site. Talkshoe’s proprietary chat interface allows an even greater amount of interaction between host and callers during a call.

Xpressdocs

Xpressdocs provides brokers customizable, on-demand printing solutions. A Web-based ordering process allows individual agents to upload images and create postcards, fliers and other marketing collateral. Xpressdocs guarantees a 24-hour turnaround on all printing.
