Network and get ahead before Connect

Inman NewsReal Estate Connect conference in San Francisco this summer will bring together the event’s longstanding reputation for networking and its focus on technology by enabling virtual networking before, during and after the conference.

Real estate executives, entrepreneurs and technology developers can start making their connections now by participating in the virtual networking opportunities in place at online social network sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and InmanWiki.

Real Estate Connect, slated for Aug. 1-3 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, brings together technology innovators and top brokerage executives for three days of networking, debate and exposure to the latest innovations in real estate. This year marks the 11th consecutive Real Estate Connect event in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Here are just a few ways this year’s attendees can participate:

1. Join our Facebook group

Facebook is the hottest social networking phenomenon going on right now. Create a profile and dive into the fun. Join our Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2456730647) and meet people who are going to be at Connect. Make some friends and join in any of the ongoing discussions — let yourself be known so you can be found at Connect.

2. Join the LinkedIn group

LinkedIn helps you connect with all your business contacts. Join our Connect SF group (http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/3579/1365C04D53B0) and become part of this exclusive group. Once you’re approved, you’ll have access to all the other members’ contact information so you’ll be able to set up that critical meeting at Connect.

3. Create a Twitter Account

“Tweet” your presence at Connect! Twitter lets you answer the question “What Are You Doing Now?” in 140 characters or less – and it’s a great way to stay in touch with your friends at Connect. Sign up for an account (https://twitter.com/signup) and make sure you add ConnectSF (http://twitter.com/ConnectSF) as a friend. Set up your mobile phone to send and receive “tweets.”

4. Use the InmanWiki to go for coffee

Looking for some informal networking opportunities? Visit the InmanWiki page on Connect SF Networking (https://www.inmanwiki.com/Real-Estate/Connect_SF_Networking) and add your name to the list for a breakfast, lunch or dinner date. Just click on the Edit tab and put yourself in the right section.

5. Let the world know you’re going

Go to either our Upcoming.org (http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/208429/) page, our Zvents (http://www.zvents.com/events/show/22912121-Real-Estate-Connect) page or our Eventful (http://eventful.com/events/E0-001-004932754-3) page and tell everyone you plan to attend. Use the sites to fill your calendar or connect with other attendees.

Real Estate Connect SF ’07 also includes four pre-conferences: Internet Marketing Bootcamp, Connect TECH, Broker Internet Session and Bloggers Connect. Registration for all conferences runs until July 24, 2007.
