Long-term mortgage interest rates were mostly flat Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 4.77 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average held at 6.22 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate sank to 5.89 percent. The 1-year adjustable climbed to 5.61 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up at 4.93 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 35.52 points, or 0.26 percent, finishing at 13,504.3. The Nasdaq was up 14.27 points, or 0.56 percent, closing at 2,561.6.
