Northern California retail space fills up

Terranomics Retail Services recently negotiated the leasing of two retail centers in Newark and Sacramento, Calif., for an undisclosed price.

In the first deal, Mervyn’s signed a long-term lease for an 82,000-square-foot retail building in Newark that is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. Mervyn’s will be relocating from its existing site across the street at the Newpark Mall into the brand-new building on Mowry Avenue in the summer of 2008. The landlord is Toyama Partners.

In the second transaction, Cycle Gear Inc., which sells motorcycle parts, apparel and accessories, leased a 26,000-square-foot retail anchor site in Sacramento. Located at 5400 Date Ave., the property is owned by John and Christine Barritt. Cycle Gear has recently been expanding its store locations throughout Northern California.
