REIT picks up leasehold interest in D.C. property

Washington Real Estate Investment Trust has acquired the leasehold interest for a class A office building in Washington, D.C., for $73.5 million, the company said today.

The property, 2000 M Street, NW, is an eight-story, class A office building with a three-level parking garage.

The property was fully occupied by 21 tenants at the time of the transaction and it includes 227,000 net rentable square feet and 375 parking spaces.
