Inman

Welcome to the new Inman News!

Inman News today debuts a shiny new Web site, culminating many months of work spent behind the scenes building new channels, new community features and more feedback functionality to the site.

The goal was ambitious, but clear. We set out to tear down the front and back-end of the old Inman News site, which includes over 10,000 real estate articles written since 1995. We had to do this in order to bring the front door of Inman up to speed with how news is being reported and consumed today.

With the launch of the new Inman.com today, we hope to accomplish two things:

We will still deliver daily hard-hitting real estate news and the best in consumer advice columns. But we also aim to open the gates and welcome our readers to the community they already belong to.

Inman News readers have a lot in common: they read the same news every day, work in the same industry, attend the same events, and encounter the same opportunities and challenges as colleagues. Many of them are bloggers, have contributed articles to the InmanWiki and guest perspectives for the news feed.

Now, everyone will be able to put as much into Inman News as they like without the barrier of a legacy site holding them back. Now, readers can go to Inman News and add real estate articles to the wiki, list themselves in the professional directory, link up with other readers, watch videos, bookmark news stories in their own dashboard area of the site, and more.

Complete list of new features

Our new site brings many new features, enabling readers to:

  • Comment directly on news stories and videos
  • Participate in groups and group discussions
  • Create their own community profile and listing in the real estate directory
  • Access the entire Inman News library of articles
  • Share news articles on social bookmarking sites
  • Contribute articles to InmanWiki (now integrated with Inman.com)
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds.

More bloggers, more insight

As part of the new Web site launch, Inman News has invited a few top bloggers to lead the new Community section with lively blog posts and podcasts each week. We’re thrilled to have these insightful writers join the team to help Inman News deliver even more insight into the latest technologies, trends and issues impacting real estate professionals.

Our new community contributors include:

And we’re not stopping there. We hope to attract more talent over the next year.

Baby steps

This launch is version 1.0 of the new Inman News and we anticipate bugs, but will respond to them. The site will continue to evolve. The site is as much our readers’ as it is ours so please tell us what’s not working and we’ll fix it.

You can tell us what you think and provide any suggestions for future versions by complete our survey at this link, or by emailing your comments to beta@inman.com.

Thanks for your support and participation in the launch of the new Inman News!
