Long-term mortgage interest rates were mostly flat Wednesday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 3.73 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average stayed at 5.8 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate dipped slightly to 5.38 percent. Meanwhile, the 1-year adjustable rate rose to 5.94 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield slipped to 4.47 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes
nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states.
Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 11.81 points, or 0.09 percent, finishing at 12,820.13.
The Nasdaq dropped 13.3 points, or 0.55 percent, closing at 2,412.8.
