A Massachusetts-based rental search site, formerly known as Grand Central Apartments, has rebranded as Rental Beast.
It is common for renters in the Boston area to pay a broker fee to secure a lease, and this cost is often the equivalent of a full month’s rental fee, in addition to the first month’s rent and last month’s rent and a security fee, Rental Beast’s Web site states.
The site offers a guarantee that it will find its users an apartment by their moving date, for a fee ranging from $89-$295. It’s free to list rental properties at the site — the company allows private owners and management companies to list properties, and validates all rental properties entered at the site.
Users can set up alerts for properties matching desired search criteria and allows users to schedule appointments to view rental units. The company has plans to expand into other market areas.
