Coldwell Banker connects with YouTube crowd

Correction: Coldwell Banker reports that it did have a TV advertising presence in first-quarter 2009 — it began a TV ad campaign on March 30, the final day of the first quarter.

One month after launching a branded YouTube channel, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC says the site now offers 1,700 videos and has attracted more than 200,000 visitors.

Coldwell Banker’s YouTube channel, "On Location," has been among the top 10 most-viewed branded channels on YouTube since its launch, the company said, thanks in part to the more than 1,300 original videos uploaded by its brokers and agents.

The real estate franchisor says it worked closely with YouTube and parent company Google to develop a customized framework. The site is the first branded YouTube channel to automatically serve up local results to visitors based on their general location.

Coldwell Banker is a finalist for an Inman Innovator Award in the "Most innovative brokerage or franchise" category (see story).

While Century 21, Coldwell Banker, ERA and Prudential had almost no TV advertising presence during the first quarter of 2009 — Coldwell Banker reports that it began a TV ad campaign on March 30, the final day of the first quarter — brokerage franchise giant RE/MAX ran national television ads throughout the first quarter and also uses YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn (see story) to promote its brand.
