IPhone app stores house-tour info

A new iPhone application from developer a la mode lets agents take notes, voice memos and photos during home tours that reflect their clients’ likes and dislikes about a property, which can be outputted as a PDF-formatted report.

The reports generated by a la mode’s TourNarrator iPhone app frees clients from having to take their own notes during home tours, reducing the need for second showings and helping buyers make more confident decisions, the company said.

TourNarrator records typed or voice notes, organizing them and incorporating them with photos into multimedia reports. Clients receive a summarized recap of their opinions, captured and published from the agent’s iPhone.

After the app was approved for release through the iTunes App Store last week, it jumped to 11th place among paid apps in the business category, a la mode said in a press release.

Another house-tour app — Home Selection Assistant, released by Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate — auto-detects a user’s location when users snap photos during home tours, and allows users to compile photo albums for homes that can be shared with others or synced with a home computer (see story).
