Building a statewide MLS: calREDD gets a new member

Brokers and agents of the Yosemite Gateway Association of Realtors are officially connected to California’s statewide multiple listing service, the California Association of Realtors announced Monday. The Yosemite Gateway Association, the eighth to go live on the calREDD system, has about 140 members.

Three more associations are scheduled to throw the switch on calREDD — an acronym for California Real Estate Dynamic Data — in coming months, CAR said in a press release. The Tehama County and Amador Realtor associations are scheduled to go live in June, followed by the Del Norte Association of Realtors.

After launching in August with three Realtor associations on board, calREDD has grown more slowly than originally anticipated.

The Fresno Association of Realtors withdrew shortly after launch, after members complained of difficulties using the Concentric software platform. The schedule for bringing other Realtor associations on board was lengthened to accommodate requests for customization in places like Lake County, where some agents and brokers complained of problems after a Jan. 11 launch (see story).

Last week, CAR announced a plan to merge the calREDD system with a regional MLS operated by Pomona, Calif.-based Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service Inc. (MRMLS). The merger would create a single MLS serving more than 33,000 real estate professionals around the state, the companies said (see story).
