Realtor.com offers location-aware ads

Advertisers on Realtor.com can now target their ads to users based on their physical location or home search criteria under an agreement between website operator Move Inc. and location-driven advertising platform Lat49.

Under the terms of the agreement, Move will publish Lat49 banner advertising on its network of sites, which also includes Move.com and Moving.com, and resell advertising across Lat49’s network, the companies said.

The agreement will also enable advertisers on Realtor.com and other Move Network sites to display their retail locations on a map relevant to the individual properties consumers are exploring. The same capabilities will also be offered to advertisers without location-driven businesses, and can be branded to a national, state or market level.

"We expect consumers will appreciate being able to easily locate a favorite coffee shop, bank, hotel or other local service as they’re searching for their next home, and as they consider whether or not a specific neighborhood is right for their needs," said Matthew Moore, Move Inc.’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, in a press release.

In November, Vancouver, B.C.-based Lat49 announced that BaseEstate.com and eppraisal.com had joined the Lat49 ad network, which is made up of websites and mobile applications delivering location-specific real estate, travel, news, weather and traffic information.

The network serves ads dynamically, assessing users’ interactions and locations of interest, their search criteria, and the context of the websites or mobile applications they are using.
