Nation’s largest local Realtor association gets bigger

For the second time in three months, a Miami-area Realtor association has merged with another.

The Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches merged with the Realtor Association of Miami-Dade County in August and became the Miami Association of Realtors (MIAMI). The merger made MIAMI the largest local Realtor association in the nation, the association said.

In this latest merger, the Northwestern Dade Association of Realtors (NDAR) adds almost 500 members to MIAMI’s nearly 23,500. The merger also creates one Realtor association for all of Miami-Dade County.

"We are thrilled to become one family and one association for all of Miami-Dade County," said Maria E. Brackett, 2011 president of NDAR, in a statement.

"As the largest association in the nation, our membership will enjoy the best our combined associations have to offer and will be better equipped to serve the buying and selling public in our communities."
