RPR now live in 43 markets

National Web-based real estate database, the Realtors Property Resource (RPR) is now live for more than 179,000 members, the National Association of Realtors’ subsidiary announced today.

RPR launched in September and is now available in 43 of the 135 markets in which it is licensed. Those 135 markets represent more than 262,000 Realtors — NAR reported total Realtor membership of 1.08 million at the end of October.

Use of RPR is exclusively for NAR members, though Realtors whose multiple listing services haven’t signed on to the project won’t have access to it until fourth-quarter 2011, and they will have limited access to RPR. Realtors at MLSs that aren’t participating in RPR won’t see active or historic listing data for their market, for example, and they may see listings data from participating MLSs — but only if those MLSs have chosen to make it available to them.

The database will continue to launch in other markets each week through the end of the year, the announcement said.

"We began beta testing with nearly 1,000 Realtors in 13 MLSs, starting in March, and we received wonderful and helpful feedback from them," said Marty Frame, RPR’s president, in a statement. More than 387 MLSs and boards are still considering whether to participate in RPR, the company said.

RPR also announced two new initiatives scheduled to launch in 2011. RPR’s Broker Tool Sets Program — which will "provide reports, trends and forecasting tools which can focus on custom defined markets, allowing a broker or manager to cross existing boundaries and see a true picture of their company’s market area" — is slated for release in spring 2011.

The RPR Commercial application is projected to launch in third-quarter 2011. The application will integrate RPR’s public property records and distressed property data with sales and leasing information, site details and comparisons, renter densities, and retail behavior information. RPR is collaborating on the application’s development with the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors.
