Long & Foster launches neighborhood reports

Chantilly, Va.-based brokerage Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. has launched free market reports by ZIP code, the company announced Tuesday.

The launch is an expansion of the Long & Foster Market Minute reports, which include units sold, active inventory, median sale price, months of supply, new listings, new contracts, list-to-sold price ratio, and days on market.

The reports previously only covered about 100 counties in the Mid-Atlantic region and now covers more than 500 ZIP codes. The reports use data from the nation’s largest MLS, Rockville, Md.-based Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. (MRIS). Consumers can sign up for a free subscription to receive a report for their county or ZIP code every month.

Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies, said in a statement, "The expansion of the Long & Foster Market Minute reports to neighborhood-level data means that consumers can clearly see not only what’s happening in their counties, but also in their local area."

Consumers can find relevant reports using an interactive map on the brokerage’s website. (See a sample report of the Chantilly housing market.)

Long & Foster also recently launched free wireless Internet service for its offices.
