Real estate exec jailed on drug trafficking charge

Robert Lord Morris, president-elect of the Realtors Association of Lake and Sumter Counties in central Florida, is in jail after claiming a package filled with crystal methamphetamine worth an estimated $30,000 hidden inside a bag of Meow Mix cat food, the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday.

Morris, 48, was charged with drug trafficking and resisting arrest. Morris had also previously been charged with possession of cocaine in April.

According to the Sentinel, Morris was fired from his wife’s company, Morris Realty & Investments, on Thursday after his arrest. In an online biography, Morris claimed to have closed $60 million in sales since 2006, the paper said.

Morris is being held on $500,500 bond, the Sentinel reported.
