Texas brokerage goes paperless

A 13-office, 350-agent brokerage in Texas is now processing all of its files on a new paperless platform that’s powered by the SureClose transaction management system.

The platform adopted by Heritgage Texas Properties is a collaboration between PropertyInfo Corp. and the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR), which customizes the SureClose system for HAR members.

The platform, HAR-ETS — ETC stands for Electronic Transaction Solution — has been available since January.

"We are delighted to see Heritage Texas Properties benefit so greatly from the HAR-ETS software in such a short period of time, and we expect that other HAR members will see similar benefits in the coming months," said Tom Groom, chief technology officer for PropertyInfo, in a statement.

The software offers access to transaction documents through mobile applications for Apple and Android, eliminating paper files that can be costly to maintain and time consuming to use. Heritage plans to use the software to interact with external parties such as title companies, inspectors, homebuyers and sellers.

PropertyInfo Corp., a subsidiary of Stewart Title Co., provides online transaction management and e-closing solutions, real estate information services, title/escrow production systems, hosting services, software development and online product distribution via its Web portal.
