Coldwell Banker announces next CEO

Realogy Corp. subsidiary Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC has named Chief Operating Officer and President Budge Huskey to succeed Jim Gillespie as the company’s CEO on Jan. 1, 2013.

Huskey, who began his career in real estate in 1984 as an agent with family-owned, Florida-based Huskey Realty, was promoted to his current position in 2010, after serving for 12 years in executive positions within the Coldwell Banker operations of Realogy subsidiary NRT LLC.

Huskey was president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Florida until 2007, when he was promoted to executive vice president of NRT’s Southern Region, overseeing the company’s Coldwell Banker operations in the Florida, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Atlanta markets.

"This clearly marks significant milestones for two remarkable careers," said Richard A. Smith, CEO and president of Realogy in a statement. "Budge Huskey’s proven record underscores his ability to lead and execute, and Jim Gillespie’s leadership of the Coldwell Banker franchise has been exemplary."

Gillespie’s career at Coldwell Banker spans 36 years. After moving to the Coldwell Banker Real Estate corporate office in 1997 with responsibility for broker services, Gillespie was named COO in 2001 and CEO in 2004.

Brokerages affiliated with Coldwell Banker operate 3,100 offices with 83,000 agents worldwide.
