Househappy will use photos to drive real estate searches

A new user-generated real estate platform in the works promises to provide property search driven by photos instead of charts and graphs.

According to the home page of Househappy.org, the Portland, Ore.-based site will launch this year with properties in 60 major cities, and a mission "to simplify property search and make information accessible to everyone."

Image-based sites and services including Pinterest and Instagram are increasingly popular with social media and mobile users.

Househappy.org is registered to Kevin Michael McCloskey, principal broker of KM Brokerage in Portland.
