New Realtor.org home page coming Monday

Starting Monday, members of the National Association of Realtors will be able to customize the news they see on the trade group’s website home page by their role in real estate as well as their particular interests, such as technology or political advocacy.

NAR rolled out a revamped version of Realtor.org in the spring. In an announcement this week, the trade group said the latest redesign, launching Oct. 1, delivers on a promise for future improvements based on member feedback.

As of Monday, users will be able to see news on the Realtor.org home page relevant to their role as either a residential agent, commercial agent, broker, association executive, or volunteer leader. Industry news items will also be more prominently displayed than in the current version of the home page with three top headlines visible and more available by clicking through.

Users will have the option to further tailor the content they see according to one of 13 interests: appraisal; buyers and sellers; community programs; education and training; events; global; law, ethics and policy; selling and marketing; political advocacy; research and statistics; resort and second homes; special offers; and technology.

The site’s navigation, including the search bar, sign-in controls, and links to the sites’ main sections will now stay at the top of every page, even when users scroll down, NAR said. While many users are currently asked to sign in again when moving between different areas of the site, they will only have to log in once with the new design.
