Third California MLS offers paperless tool

Concord, Calif.-based East Bay Regional MLS has become the third multiple listing service in the Golden State this year to offer its members access to a tool that will allow them to import data directly from the MLS database into transaction forms.

ZipFormMLS-Connect is a feature available only to users of zipForm, electronic forms software from real estate technology company zipLogix and a free member benefit to members of the California Association of Realtors. Founded in 1991, zipLogix is a joint venture between the National Association of Realtors and CAR subsidiary Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS).

EBRMLS is comprised of the Bay East Association of Realtors, Contra Costa Association of Realtors, and East Bay Regional Data Inc. (EBRDI). EBRDI is owned by five local associations: the Alameda Association of Realtors, Berkeley Association of Realtors, Delta Association of Realtors, Oakland Association of Realtors, and West Contra Costa Association of Realtors.

EBRMLS’s 10,266 members will now be able to subscribe to zipFormMLS-Connect on an individual basis for $19.95 per year.

The tool allows agents to accurately add information to their transactions without duplicate data entry or the need to log in to an MLS service before creating a transaction, REBS said.

"This will free up (agents’) valuable time for more productive activities," said Barbara Safran, president of the Contra Costa Association of Realtors, in a statement.

ZipFormMLS-Connect is also available through the mobile version of zipForm.

"As more agents work from smartphones and tablets, it’s important that we extend our data integrations into that environment as well," said EBRDI Chairperson Dave Seyranian in a statement.

In the past couple of months, at least 20 associations in three states have signed up with zipLogix, which integrated the e-signature platform DocuSign into its system in early August. The latest MLS to sign up for zipFormMLS-Connect was San Diego area-based Sandicor Inc., which has 15,900 members. In mid-August, the Central Coast Regional MLS (CCRMLS), which has about 2,100 members, signed up for the tool.

EBRMLS is one of five MLSs in the San Francisco Bay Area that have signed up to participate in a listings data quality assurance system from real estate search portal Trulia called Trulia Direct Reference.
