Inman

Inman News seeks technology reporter

Are you hard-working, tenacious and self-directed? Inman News, the leading real estate trade publication, is looking for a capable technology reporter who is curious, enthusiastic and has a solid grasp of the latest technology issues — gadgets, technology trends and social. If you understand real estate, that’s a bonus but not a requirement.

The beat entails covering the latest technology products, including Web-based and mobile apps, reviewing them, and explaining how they can be used by real estate brokers and agents. You will cover lead generation and management tools and other products designed specifically for real estate professionals by companies like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com and Market Leader. You will also report on everyday examples of new products from the broader tech sector, including hardware, software, cloud solutions, and iOS and Android apps.

First a reporter: As Inman News’ technology reporter, you will build a network of sources, scan RSS feeds and social streams daily, pick smart stories in collaboration with your editor, and then write two or three meaty short- to medium-length news posts five days a week. We are competitive, so getting out the story first is our passion.

Also a writer: You must be a good writer.

Deadline-focused: This is not casual feature writing.

POV: We want your voice in the stories. Tell us what you really think, without compromising your independence.

Position details: This is a full-time position. The right candidate can work remotely, but must be a proven, accountable and hard-working professional.
