Lennar iPad app guides users to builder’s homes

Homebuilder Lennar Corp. is offering an iPad app that it’s touting as more than just a way to search the company’s inventory of new homes — it also helps users apply for a mortgage or get their home insured through Lennar subsidiaries.

The myLennar iPad app allows users to see nearby Lennar communities with new homes for sale, narrowing results by filtering on new home and community criteria.

Users can swipe picture slideshows of home photos, floorplans and community amenities, and sign in to save favorite homes and communities and compare plans.

Once it’s time to buy, the myLenner app allows users to apply for a mortgage with Universal American Mortgage Co., the financial services subsidiary of Lennar Corp., which also operates as Universal American Mortgage Co. of California.

In addition, the app provides quotes for new home insurance with North American Advantage Insurance Services, an affiliate of Lennar Corp. subsidiary North American Title Insurance Co.

Homebuyers can also use the app to order phone, Internet and cable service; change their address; send e-cards to their friends and family; and get moving tips.

"With the myLennar iPad App we were very focused on creating a tool that, for the first time, provided a place consumers could go for everything they need," said Jon Jaffe, vice president and chief operating officer of Lennar, in a statement.

"We believe it is highly important to focus on the details and create ways to make the home buying process easier for our customers, while also showing them how simple it is to buy a new home versus an existing home."
