Samsung wristwatch to join ‘smart wear’ battle

Samsung has confirmed to Bloomberg that it’s working on a smart accoutrement of its own. And it’s also indicated that it shares the same belief as Apple when it comes to post-smartphone tech accessories: nerds would rather sport intelligent wristwatches than glasses.

In fact, Samsung came to believe that long ago. TechCrunch cited an UnwiredView.com story that reported that Samsung has had wristwatch-related tech patents for nearly a decade.

It remains unclear whether Google Glass or Apple’s iWatch will hit the market first. But news outlets have reported that Apple has said that it may debut its product by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Google is in the process of selecting "Glass Explorers" to test a prototype of its eyewear product.
