Errol Samuelson on his new role at Move [VIDEO]

Editor’s note: This story has been updated with a video of Errol Samuelson discussing his new role at Move Inc.

Errol Samuelson has been named chief strategy officer at Move Inc. where he has overseen the firm’s operation of realtor.com since 2007.

In his new role, Samuelson, who was chief revenue officer of the company before this new position, will continue to run realtor.com but will have more influence on the “vision, strategy and future direction of Move,” said Move CEO Steve Berkowitz in a statement.

Samuelson joined Move in 2003 as president of the company’s customer relationship management platform Top Producer Systems. In 2007, he was named president of realtor.com, the official real estate search portal of the National Association of Realtors, which Move has an agreement to operate.

Berkowitz says Samuelson led the teams that handled the 2012 Move acquisitions of lead management company TigerLead Solutions and Relocation.com, a site that connects professional movers and storage facilities to consumers, and had a large role in the previous acquisitions of social media search platform SocialBios, listing distribution platform ListHub, and Top Producer Systems.

“(Samuelson’s) the perfect person for the job,” Berkowitz said. “(In his new role) he will also explore new areas where Move can expand its offerings.”

Move, which expects double-digit revenue growth in 2013, has made some bold moves lately.

Last month, it launched an agressive realtor.com campaign that highlights the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the listing portal’s for-sale inventory. Realtor.com, thanks to its relationship with NAR, gets direct feeds from most multiple listing services in the U.S., while rivals Zillow and Trulia do not, which creates challenges regarding the sites’ listing accuracy.
