Are these robots ready for real estate?

The fast-moving world of technology offers real estate pros opportunities a future that seemed impossible just a few years ago. Now we are thinking about what it would be like to have driverless cars, drone-enhanced aerial photography and a robot personal assistant.

Below is some new robotic technology that may hit the residential real estate industry sooner than later. Technologies like these and the imaginative thinking behind them will be explored July 10-12 at Real Estate Connect San Francisco at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco.

Go ahead: Call, email and text while ‘driving’

Agents spend a lot of times in their cars. On the way to show houses, meet clients, prepare for open houses or see new homes on the market, there’s a lot they could get done if they didn’t need to pay attention to driving. How amazing would that be?

Drone photography

Halstead Property, a brokerage with 26 offices and 1,000 agents in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, has a fleet of small helicopters that it uses to provide aerial photographs of some of its listed properties. Multi-propeller remote-controlled flying devices, equipped to take video and photos, will only become more popular in real estate, some experts say.

Want to schedule two open houses on the same day?

ASIMO, the humanoid robot from Honda, may be able to help you out with “running” another open house. Wonder if it can clean up afterward?
