Broker as investor: a new business model?

Relationships between brokers and agents are complicated. When agents are starting out, brokers provide training and mentoring, leads and technical support — often taking a hefty cut of an agent’s commissions in return.

Experienced agents can demand a bigger piece of the pie, and brokers must compete with each other to attract — and keep — the best agents.

But with the rise of agent teams, what if brokers were to take the next step and invest directly in a team?

Hear more about this intriguing proposal at Real Estate Connect San Francisco, during a Thursday, July 11 panel discussion, “Broker as Investor: Tearing Down the Old Broker/Agent Relationship.”

Participating will be Kevin Lisota, CEO, findwell; Renwick Congdon, CEO, Imprev; Debbie Lewandowski, director, First Team Estates; and Brian Boero, partner, 1000watt.
