Now there’s a rental management app for small-time landlords

Pendo Rent, a rental management software application for landlords with just a handful of properties to keep track of, launched today with the ability to collect and track online payments, create to-do alerts and manage finances.

The Vancouver-based firm is targeting “citizen landlords,” those property owners who want a simple, organized way to manage tenant applications, and maintain tenant profiles, advertising and other aspects of renting a property.

The startup is part of the Invoke Labs incubator group, which is led by the same people who created HootSuite.

“The real estate technology space is booming, and we’re excited to launch a product that addresses critical pain points for a large but underserved segment of the rental market,” said Keith Ippel, Invoke Labs’ managing director.

Currently, the system coordinates online payments for Canada-based users via VersaPay and is working on a solution for those in the U.S., which, it says, will be announced soon.

The system’s responsive Web design was optimized for the iPad, and an iPhone app is planned for later this year.
