SmartZip’s new Facebook app lets homeowners adjust valuations, syndicate information across the Web

SmartZip Analytics Inc. has released a new Facebook app for the company’s predictive marketing platform that lets homeowners adjust their home value, verify online valuations and syndicate the information across real estate websites with the help of real estate agents who are SmartZip clients.

The free “Price Your Home Right” Facebook app for SmartTargeting also gives homeowners access to recent sales activity and price changes in their neighborhood.

“The general population tends to believe the home values they see on the Web are accurate,” said SmartZip CEO Avi Gupta in a statement. “If there is an inconsistency online with a property’s value, it can be extremely challenging for a homeowner to correct it. Our new Facebook app gives homeowners a simple tool they can use to adjust their published online home value seen by millions of people.”

SmartZip’s agent clients can generate new business by offering the app to their existing Facebook following, and engaging with new prospects on Facebook, the company said. Last month, SmartZip announced the debut of a SmartTargeting mobile app for Apple iOS devices. An Android version of the app is in the works.

In an August update, a lead capture system, SmartHomePrice.com, was added to SmartTargeting 3.3, giving homeowners instant access to their estimated home values as determined by SmartZip’s automated valuation model (AVM).

SmartHomePrice.com lets homeowners contact local real estate pros who are also SmartZip subscribers to ask for an adjustment of their home valuations due to recent property upgrades or changes in local market conditions. SmartZip’s home valuations appear on a variety of syndication websites, including realtor.com and foreclosure.com.

Based in Pleasanton, Calif., SmartZip is backed by Intel Capital, Claremont Creek Ventures and Javelin Venture Partners.
