The changing role of brokers in the information age: ‘Put color on data’

NEW YORK — It’s no secret that real estate agents are no longer the gatekeepers of information — “all the information is out there, and consumers should be loaded up” with it, says Pamela Liebman, president and CEO of The Corcoran Group. But some of that information is very “flat.” What agents can do, Liebman says, is “put color on it” and explain it. “That’s why we want our agents to know more than the consumers do about the information that’s out there,” she says.
