Buyer’s Edge, a Bethesda, Md.-based brokerage that exclusively serves buyers, has released a free mobile app that lets users search listings in Washington, D.C., and parts of Maryland and Virginia.

The app displays listings sourced from the local multiple listing service (MLS) and allows users to browse properties within a 1- to 5-mile radius of their location based on community, price and property type, according to Buyer’s Edge.

Listings displayed on the app show detailed property information including taxes, estimated mortgage, and interior and exterior features. Homebuyers can use the app to request a showing or additional information on a property.

Buyer’s Edge said that its app displays only active listings, unlike some other search apps that show unavailable properties “all in the interest of making the phone ring.”
