Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has named Mike James president of the company’s San Francisco Bay Area region, where he will oversee the operations of 46 offices and more than 3,000 affiliated sales associates in the Bay Area.

James is replacing Rick Turley, who the company said “is exploring the next phase of his 28-year real estate career” with Coldwell Banker, focusing for now on sales in the San Francisco market.

James had previously served as the general sales manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Bay Area before taking on the Hawaii position in 2012.

“This appointment will strengthen our capability to more fully connect these two important markets, driving business referrals, both buyers and sellers, to our affiliated Coldwell Banker agents in Hawaii,” said Greg Macres, executive vice president for the western region of NRT LLC, in a statement. “We’re excited that Mike will be able to return to his roots to oversee the Bay Area operations in addition to leading the talented team at Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties in Hawaii.”

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage claims to be the largest residential real estate brokerage in Northern California, serving markets from Monterey to Lake Tahoe from 61 office locations and more than 3,900 affiliated sales associates throughout Northern California.

Owned by Realogy subsidiary NRT LLC, the brokerage claims 13.5 percent market share by dollar volume sold in Northern California, more than double its nearest competitor, and 22 percent of all dollar volume sold of properties valued at more than $1 million.
