Journalists from around the country will travel to Houston in June to learn about issues affecting housing markets, online residential real estate marketing, and sustainability and real estate design at the annual conference of the National Association of Real Estate Editors.

Speakers at NAREE’s 48th annual journalism conference will include Erica Campbell Byrum, director of social media for Homes.com; LoanDepot CEO Anthony Hsieh; Metrostudy Chief Economist Brad Hunter; and one of the world’s most influential developers, Gerald D. Hines, whose firm has developed nearly 900 skyscrapers, master-planned communities, and other projects around the world designed by renowned architects including I. M. Pei, Philip Johnson and Frank Gehry.

Hugh F. Kelly, professor of real estate at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, will deliver a housing market forecast at the event, which runs from June 11-14 and is expected to bring “staff and freelance journalists from the Los Angeles Times to the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post and New York Times to tweet, blog, report and write about real estate,” said NAREE Executive Director Mary Doyle-Kimball in a statement.

“NAREE University” sessions will provide peer-to-peer skill building workshops with insights from journalists with the Wall Street Journal, Newsday, Unique Homes magazine, Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post.
