Top Chinese language property website Juwai.com has redesigned its website — by using feng shui principles.

Juwai.com says its new site at www.juwai.com, which has just been launched, benefits from feng shui to make it even more effective and uses bright, clean design with no “multimedia gimmicks.”

Andrew Taylor, co-CEO of Juwai.com, has told OPP Connect, “We’ve launched our new website, which is a harmonious fusion of Western and Chinese styles. We guided our Web design with feng shui principles, as well as with usability standards in mind.

“It may sound strange to a Westerner to talk about applying feng shui to a website, but feng shui is all about the harmony of an environment, to maximize the happiness of its users. That’s certainly doable on a website.

“Our website has bright pages that are clean and have plenty of white space, a simple design free of multimedia gimmicks and attractive, clean images and graphics and easy navigation. All of these things improve the positive flow of chi and are good feng shui.”

Juwai says the new home page gives international agents better exposure to Chinese consumers and the new features are designed to help Chinese buyers more easily navigate the site and find the information they need.

The changes include:

Juwai.com, which aims to launch more features and tools in the coming months, is currently around the 16,000th most popular website in the world and around the 1,800th most popular in China.

The launch of the revamped site comes just days after Juwai.com advised developers and agents that understanding Chinese culture, including feng shui and the meaning of numbers, would help them when selling and marketing property to Chinese buyers.

Overseas property trade show, OPPLive China 2014, at the China World Hotel, Beijing, from Oct. 23-24, brings together agents, developers, financial advisers and other industry professionals to help boost business, network and learn more about the sector.

It follows the formula of the successful OPPLive London show, which takes place on Nov. 27 and 28, at Novotel London West, and OPPLive Asia shows and includes a lively exhibition, seminars, round tables, networking events, business ‘speed dating’ sessions and more.
