Zillow CMO Amy Bohutinsky joins board of Avvo, attorney matchmaking site

Zillow Chief Marketing Officer Amy Bohutinsky has joined the board of directors of attorney matchmaking site Avvo.om, where the company says her experience establishing Zillow “as a leading and transformative consumer brand in real estate makes her an invaluable addition to our board and a key contributor to our growth strategy.”

Bohutinsky is one of Zillow’s earliest employees, and has been a “key force” in helping the listing portal build a monthly audience of more than 80 million unique users, Avvo said.

Offering ratings for 97 percent of U.S. attorneys and a Q&A forum with 5 million searchable questions, Seattle-based Avvo Inc. has raised $60.5 million in funding from Benchmark, Coatue Management, DAG Ventures and Ignition Partners.

Avvo calculates its ratings based on information including data pulled from state bar associations, court records and lawyer websites, but attorneys may claim their profiles to contribute additional information that might affect their scores. The site also offers more than 1.6 million user-generated attorney reviews.

“Avvo is leading a fundamental change in how people shop for and hire legal counsel,” Bohutinsky said in a statement, saying she was looking forard to working with founder and CEO Mark Britton and his team “to establish Avvo as the go-to legal brand and accelerate its growth.”
