SAN FRANCISCO — WikiRealty, a website that crowdsources information from real estate professionals and serves it up to consumers, has launched its first iPhone app.
There’s no shortage of real estate data out there. But the actual “knowledge” that helps people contextualize that data is hard to come by online, said WikiRealty CEO Sanjay Kuttemperoor, speaking during a Real Estate Connect “New Kids on the Block” session.
A Naples, Florida-based real estate developer and attorney, Kuttemperoor said the goal of WikiRealty is to serve as a “virtual town square,” by sourcing content from professionals in all facets of the real estate industry. His hope is that WikiRealty will deliver the sort of insider information to consumers that they might get from having face-to-face interactions with locals.
“Consumers want information and all of you have information; you can provide expertise and knowledge; you can connect with consumers … all of that ends up giving you new business,” Kuttemperoor said.
WikiRealty covers Naples and Marco Island, Florida, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has plans to expand to other markets.
