The Pakistani listing portal Zameen.com has rolled out a listing search app for the iPhone.

That wouldn’t be an earth-shattering achievement for a U.S. listing site, but it’s kind of a big deal in Pakistan. The country just auctioned off rights to build 3G and 4G networks to four companies in April, and service is coming on line in major cities.

“Make way, lesser mortals,” reads the app’s description in the Apple store. “The king of Pakistan’s real estate sector is here with the best app in town.”

People can use the app to search 700,000 listings, save some of those searches, post listings and receive push notifications.

Zameen.com has seven times as many listings as its nearest competitor, and over 1,150 real estate brokerages are paying to advertise on the site, according to Shaista Zulfiqar, manager of communications at Zameen.com.

Co-founder Imran Ali Khan calls the app “another unique branding platform for the stakeholders to make a name for themselves in the booming real estate sector of Pakistan.”

Major cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta are the first to get 3G networks, and there are plans to expand service to 80 more cities in a second phase next year, DAWN.com reported in April.
