Leigh Brown at the North Carolina Association of Realtors' annual convention in Hot Springs, Virginia.

Responding to last week’s “tweet storm” by Inman News Publisher Brad Inman on loose licensing requirements and incompetent agents, Leigh Brown, broker-owner of Re/Max Executive Realty in Concord, North Carolina, says change won’t happen just because you fuss amongst yourselves. You have to commit the time and energy and be heard.

“Volunteer and be heard, and quit using busy as an excuse” for not being involved in your local, state and national Realtor associations, Brown says. “Your voice is probably more important than you realize.”

Brown is putting her money where her mouth is — she’s in Hot Springs, Virginia, today, attending the North Carolina Association of Realtors’ annual convention.
