Black Knight Financial Services has signed its first multiple listing service deal in Canada with a group of associations representing more than 17,000 real estate professionals in western Canada.

Together, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and the Realtors Association of Edmonton have signed an agreement with Black Knight to replace their current MLS systems with Black Knight’s Paragon 5 system during the summer of 2015, the company said.

“While each collaborating board has unique business and system requirements, we work together in the interests of all our members,” said Rob Philipp, CEO of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, in a statement.

“When the new systems are installed in 2015, we will achieve the financial and support benefits afforded a larger organization, yet retain the local controls so important to our individual associations.”

The Paragon platform was chosen for its compatibility with multiple browsers and devices; intuitive design; multitasking capabilities; ease of use; professionally branded comparative market analyses (CMAs); and a “Client Connect” portal that allows agents and their clients to collaborate by sharing access to the MLS system, Black Knight said.

Paragon 5 has been gaining steam lately, and more than 220 MLSs serving over 250,000 real estate professionals now use the platform.

Black Knight has been beefing up its data and analytics division, adding former defense consultant Dan Kenshalo and former CoreLogic exec Ben Graboske.
