National brokerage sets up shop in the nation’s capital with acquisition

Carrington Real Estate Services, the brokerage wing of Carrington Holding Company LLC, has entered the Washington, D.C., market by acquiring the largest affiliate of Realty Direct LLC’s franchise network.

Wendy Powers, former majority owner of the acquired firm, now heads Carrington’s Washington, D.C.-area operation, with offices in Largo, Maryland, and Ashburn and Mclean, Virginia.

With the 230 agents and three offices it picked up in the acquisition, Carrington now has 39 company-owned offices and 1,800 agents in 16 statesFormerly Atlantic & Pacific Real Estate, the Santa Ana, California-based firm holds licenses in six additional states, where it also does business, said Carrington Holding Company’s chief real estate officer, Steve Ozonian.

In May, Carrington began rolling out a digital marketing and customer relationship management platform powered by BoomTown.
