The National Association of Realtors’ annual convention in New Orleans doesn’t even officially kick off until Friday, but already, Leigh Brown is hearing a lot of kvetching on social media channels (many who can’t be there are following along on Twitter and Facebook).
“There’s a lot of negative stuff, a lot of hateful commentary going on,” she reports.
Brown, broker-owner of Leigh Brown and Associates with Re/Max Executive Realty, says she’s at the convention to fight for property rights, her clients, and her fellow agents and brokers.
She wonders if it would be better to channel all the negativity she’s detecting into actively working with NAR to fix whatever problems need to be addressed.
“Y’all, for this one week, can you turn off the hateful, turn off the negative, and find out if maybe your business increases when you become positive, maybe your industry becomes better if you speak up?” Brown pleads.
