Redfin enters New Mexico, closes in on US-wide coverage

Redfin has opened shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, bringing the tech-focused brokerage one state closer to full U.S. coverage and into its fifth new market so far this year.

The Seattle-based firm’s expansion, launched last year and boosted by a $70.9 million funding round it announced in December, puts the brokerage in 25 U.S. states.

Redfin provides brokerage services in a growing number of U.S. metros.

Redfin has hired Denise Lane to anchor the expansion in the Albuquerque area, which includes Rio Rancho, the East Mountains, Corrales and Placita. A former Los Alamos City Councilwoman, Lane was a Realtor for 13 years in Los Alamos before moving to Albuquerque and starting her own brokerage

In January, Redfin expanded to Nashville and Memphis in Tennessee and Naples and Fort Myers in southwest Florida.

Editor’s note: New Mexico was the 25th state where Redfin provided brokerage services. A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that with the addition of New Mexico, Redfin was providing brokerage services in 28 states.
