6 questions with ICSF speaker Joel Goodrich

Joel Goodrich at Coldwell Banker Previews International will be one of the featured speakers at Inman Connect San Francisco.

We caught up with Goodrich and asked him six questions about his real estate philosophy. Here’s what he had to say:

What’s something about the real estate industry you believe that others don’t?

It’s a lifestyle, not just a profession.

What connection have you made — business or personal — that changed the course of your life?

My very first click on my website in 1998 — a young tech couple who bought a major home from me and referred all their friends — and we’re still great friends 17 years later!

What’s on your radar for 2016 as a sleeper opportunity for agents/brokers/companies in the real estate space?

The shakeout in the real estate sites.

What’s your No. 1 tip for building out a network of valuable connections?

I call it dining for dollars, as opposed to dialing — get out there to every worthwhile business, charitable or social event you can when you’re not working — and combine it synergistically with an online social media, SEO and email presence, as well as print ads and direct mail.

What’s one thing you want to stop doing in 2016?

Watching TV.

What’s the one issue that everyone in the real estate industry should be paying attention to in the coming year?

How developing artificial intelligence will affect the brokerage industry.
