Federico Babina, an Italian architect known for his colorful and contemporary architecture-themed illustrations, has created a number of collections based around a specific theme. Babina has created past series with themes like music and 20th century art.
His newest collection is rooted in film. He found inspiration from some of the world’s most famous film directors, including Lars Von Trier, Tim Burton, Wes Anderson and George Lucas. Each home illustration embodies the respective director’s most notable film or ongoing thematic presence in pop culture.
Films served as styling and aesthetic inspiration for the 27 imaginary houses, as well as the foundation for structural elements, colors, materials and shape of the homes.
Because these details are integral for each filmmaker’s on-screen personality and artistry, Babina found that bringing those same elements to life on paper was different for each individual.
Babina’s musically themed project brought to life the works of 27 popular songs by musicians ranging from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to The White Stripes to David Bowie.
