Most agents live and die by the deal — so it’s no surprise that most agents tend to view “success” as an event to be achieved. Being successful is a “thing,” like a trophy that you carry around — and as long as you meet your production goals, nobody will take it away from you.

The truth is more complicated, though — success is a spectrum, which means that it’s the accumulation of many small things that you do over time that build up to major achievements. So if you’re an agent looking to achieve success, being on the lookout for some success “event” is going to leave you searching for the wrong thing — and most likely neglecting the tasks that truly lead to a successful career.

Today we’re discussing success as a way of life and accumulation of small achievements — and how you can model your own success after the top-producing agents who practice this approach to success in their own real estate businesses.
