3 tips to winning over clients with holiday gifts

Gift-giving season is well upon us, and on the show, Casey and Corey share what they’ve learned over the years about the kinds of presents that get noticed — without putting you in the middle of a big holiday hassle.

1. Take notes on your clients and loved ones

If your second cousin twice removed or your star client mentions that they love Meyer lemons during casual conversation, make a note of it. File it away for later.

Imagine how delighted they’ll be when they receive a case of Meyer lemons out of the blue — or gourmet cupcakes, or an official Star Wars replica light saber.

You get the picture. People tell you what they want all the time. You just have to listen.

2. Shop throughout the year

There’s nothing wrong with tackling your list early. You don’t have to wait until crunch time. Start by getting inspiration and collecting ideas on a platform such as Pinterest.

Giving yourself more time means you can put some extra thought into what to get the people on your list. You can also save some money by taking advantage of year-round sales and shopping off-season.

You’ll also face a far less risk of popular items selling out. Even grabbing a few items ahead of the holiday rush will make your overall shopping experience much less stressful.

3. Don’t be afraid to use coupons

In the age of Google, there is no reason to pay full price for anything. A quick search before you check out will almost always turn up a variety of coupon codes you can use for your online shopping.

There are even apps and browser extensions that do the work for you by searching for the promo codes and filling them in. Taking this few extra minutes can potentially save you a lot of money in the long run.

A good holiday gift can make the difference between an OK agent and an excellent agent in the mind of a client. By adding that personal touch and taking care to remember important details, you’re sure to crush this holiday season with your generosity and thoughtfulness.
