Last year, real estate tech accelerator MetaProp NYC launched with the help of several real estate powerhouses, including Zillow Group and New York City-based brokerage Warburg Realty. The company made the goal to invest $5 million into dozens of companies over the next five years.

To help reach that goal, MetaProp NYC has hired Monika Wysocki as its new general manager.

Aaron Block, the co-founder and managing director of MetaProp NYC, says the company chose Wysocki because she “helped build one of the few successful New York-based industry communities and, in the process, has solicited, evaluated, selected and grown some of the most exciting startups.”

“From a technology community perspective, real estate is years behind healthcare, financial services, media, education and fashion,” Block says. “We’re thrilled that Monika is bringing her years of health-tech experience to help lead the RETech evolution in New York City and beyond.”

Wysocki is a former portfolio manager for healthcare tech accelerator StartUp Health and was the associate strategist/strategic planner for McCann Health.

As the new general manager, Wysocki will be in charge of growing MetaProp NYC’s community and will lead the company’s 2016 real estate technology accelerator class.

“I look forward to adding my partner, mentor and startup experience to the MetaProp Accelerator, which has already established itself as the leader in the RETech startup world,” said Wysocki in a press release. “This is the perfect time to jump on the RETech growth rocket.”
